Home to the world's most busiest pedestrian crossing (and the Hachiko statue), Shibuya, the shopping and entertainment district of Tokyo is the center of youth culture. We could say the same with newly-opened UP Town Center, located near well-known universities along Katipunan Avenue, with a cafe where one's appreciation of the said district is embodied in its food.

Fellowship: Cyma Greek Taverna
Yesterday morning I woke up with thoughts of eating Hummus for breakfast. I've yet to learn to make one, so I spent more time in bed daydreaming about my first time eating at Cyma.

A Taste of Sicily in Manila: Cantina Sicilianita
Have you ever tried eating in a bookstore? I did! Reading a book while eating is one of me-time activities.
Before you raise eyebrows, I know we're not allowed to bring in food and having a cafe integrated with the establishment allows its customers to eat in certain areas only.
But what if it's already inside?

Daily Essentials to a Healthy Body
Keeping your body fit is a lifetime commitment and a year-round activity. But it doesn’t get as much attention as it does during the summer months, when our bodies are displayed in full glory – showing how much we have cared for, or neglected, the daily essentials to keep fit and healthy.
Barley, super food with amazing nutritional value
One of the more evident uses of barley (Hordeum vulgare), which belongs to the grass family that produces an edible whole grain, was for beer production and dates back to circa 3500–3100 BC in Iran, while the Greeks utilized its properties for cereal and porridge preparation.
For ancient Israelites, barley was an important ingredient to make malt and bread, and provided Roman Gladiators (Hordearii or Barley Men) with super strength and stamina for combat. It also served as nutritious feed to domesticated livestock such as horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep and chicken.
BlackSoup Cafe + Artspace + Suspended Coffee
I have always read and heard about the different food spots near UP Diliman, but I can never really find people to go with me nor did I have the drive to go by myself. But we meet a lot of people and I'm happy they're foodies like me! Yey!
Together with my new friend and co-Saddleback Manila volunteer, Ivy, we went on our first food trip at Maginhawa Street.

Thin Is In: Café Lidia’s awesome thin-crust pizzas
According to history, thin crust pizzas aren’t really a product of Italy; they came from Punjab, India and was brought by immigrants to the Roman Empire, although this is yet to be verified. In Italy, pizza is known as the food for the lower class people of 18th century, flat and unleavened bread topped with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves. While modern-day pizza lovers dig the New York-style per-slice goodness of Lombardi’s or the deep-dish sinfulness of Chicaco-style pizzas, nothing beats the magic of thin-crust pizzas. In the Philippines, there are only a few shops that captured the authentic thin-crust style. One of them is in Marikina: Café Lidia.
