Explore World Cuisine at Marcelino Cafe, Manila

We Filipinos love eating and making the most out of our hard-earned money.

This led to eat-all-you-can concepts popping up left and right, but nothing beats a classic hotel buffet - especially for special occasions.

Tucked away in the quiet part of Ermita in Manila is Manila Prince Hotel's Marcelino Cafe, which takes diners on a culinary journey without breaking the bank.

The all-day dining restaurant is running a promotion on its lunch and dinner buffet. At P899 nett per person (P1,500 nett regular rate), diners have access to an expansive selection of Filipino and international cuisine spread across 12 stations.

There is surely something for everyone as the buffet offers a lot of Asian favorites (Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Indian to name a few) plus American and Italian food. They also have dedicated salad, appetizer, pasta, snack bar, and carving stations as well as Halal-certified food choices available.

Guests are in for a sweet treat in the dessert section, which features The Manila Hotel’s chocolate barks. Satisfy cravings with Filipino fruit salad, panna cotta, mocha flan, kakanin, and more. Baked goods from TMH's Deli shop are also available for purchase a la carte (TIP: get them at 50% off from 4-7 PM).

I went last February with Leo of ohohleo.ph to try their dinner buffet, making sure we were early so we can check out their freshly-prepared dishes. It felt overwhelming at first but going through every station helped me decide on which dishes to try.

I honestly forgot to take photos of my plates except for the sashimi which I ate before I had dessert. Here, instead of the usual tuna and salmon fare, they serve tanigue (mackerel) and Lapu-Lapu (grouper). That alone is worth trying here!

Of course, a meal is not complete without refreshments. Unlimited drinks are also included and are not limited to your typical juices. I was able to cap off my meal with iced latte.

We had a pleasant dining experience because of the friendly, approachable, and attentive staff of Marcelino Cafe 👏
