Le Mirand Restaurant and Recreation, Antipolo

Want to grab a drink but staying away from crowds? Looking for last minute or spontaneous place to bring your date? Let me take you on a virtual tour on one of the secret gems of Antipolo City.

Le Mirand Restaurant and Recreation Review

Located along Sumulong Highway, Le Mirand is not hard to miss. Pass by Padi's Point and look for the building with an "e-Games" signage on your right. Commuters will have to ride one of the many jeepneys traversing Cubao-Antipolo (Sumulong-Simbahan route) via Marcos Highway.

The establishment has been around for a few years. It is now run by a new management and used to house the first Ice Bar in the metro.

Facilities

It may not look like it, but the building has five floors. Billiard tables, found at the lower ground level, can be rented for P150 per hour. There's a bar on the side.

Discuss business with your client in their conference room. It has a whiteboard for writing down your ideas, a couch, and its own bathroom.

Sing your heart out at The Jam Concept. A hour's worth will cost P1000, inclusive of the room rent, a bucket of beer and one (1) pulutan. Non-alcoholic drinks and kids will get Fish and Fries and five (5) canned soda. The room has air-conditioning and can accommodate 10-12 people.

For something more private, Le Mirand has a room on the top floor for couples or small families celebrating a special occasion. Rent the Lover's Deck at P1000 per hour. Make your partner kilig by singing your theme song on the KTV while having dinner under the stars ;)

And who doesn't enjoy overlooking the view of the metro? Use the telescope at night for star gazing!

Since we went during daytime, we just enjoyed the pleasant view and cooler temperature while eating! The dining area covers two floors of the building, both with bar stations.

Food

This post wouldn't be complete without food! :D

Deep fried and drizzled with cheese sauce, the Stuffed Eggplant was an instant favorite of moi. It was a filling dish best eaten while it's still warm. One would notice more of the ground beef rather than the eggplant, making it the perfect dish for kids who don't eat their veggies *insert evil laugh here*.

We were served two signature dishes of Le Mirand - the Wagyu Beef Porter House and Baby Back Ribs with House Salad. It's my first time to try wagyu beef and I like its tenderness. I only got a small bite of the flavorful baby back ribs. It makes a difference when meat is cooked perfectly :)

First on my plate is Pinoy classic Pork Sisig. Served on piping hot platter, the raw egg was mixed in and then drizzled with calamansi. Maybe adding a little more green chili or spices will give it the kick I was looking for :)

Aside from fried food, Filipino cuisine also has a variety of soup-based dishes. No need to travel hours away from home for Bulalo Special! Meat was soft, generous with marrow bones, saba banana, corn and bokchoy, Don't be shy to ask for (free) soup refill :)

Our carbs came in the form of Tuna Pasta with Toasted Bread and Wagyu Fried Rice. The pasta dish needs a little improvement with its creaminess and flavor as well as additional chucks of tuna in it. The Wagyu Fried Rice however, like most Chinese fried rice dishes, is a meal in itself and a cheaper alternative if you want to try out bits of wagyu beef. If only I wasn't watching how much rice I eat, I would have gotten more :p

We finished off our meal with Ice Cream! I got the mocha flavor :)

Verdict

Like many others, I have mistaken Le Mirand as a residential house. Others actually thought it was a bed and breakfast place or a hotel. The homey ambiance made it feel like I'm visiting a friend, which contributed to my positive experience. Meals still have that home-cooked feel and various activities in one place is great for days you just want to chill out with family and friends.

Consider Le Mirand Restaurant and Recreation on your next day/night out :)
