Vmart.ph "Taste of Asia" opens second branch for Vietnamese expats and travel-minded consumers in downtown Manila
Growing start-up grocery business Vmart.ph "Taste of Asia" opens its second physical store in Sherwood Place, Taft Avenue, Manila.
With a desire to serve and bring Vietnamese products closer to ex-pats living in Makati, Vmart.ph CEO Jenny To then opened her first store in 174 Yakal Street.
They offer a variety of consumable and non-perishable goods such as fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, medical supplies, health and beauty products, mobile phone and pet care accessories, and various beverages. They also import products from Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. The store is also a joint business of Vietnamese mainstay restaurant Annam.ph.
Wanting to reach a broader market, the company strategically opened its second store for business in Manila. “When we opened in our second branch in Sherwood Place in Taft Manila, we wanted not to focus only on Vietnam ex-pats living around Taft but we are also targeting students from De La Salle University. We think that most of these students are there well-traveled,” said To. “We know most of the students from LaSalle go on and about to different countries to we figured that they are the specific (consumer) market that would appreciate and try out the products.”
The CEO also shared future plans for 2021, where they are looking at opening at least 1-2 more physical stores within Luzon.
