[Review] Secrets of the South: Mystic Brew Cafe and Curios, Las Pinas

GeekyKitch went on a food crawl to check out the thriving food community down south of Manila.

Our last destination was something that I personally look forward to visiting because I've been hearing and seeing this establishment from Ms. Kathy.

This four-year-old neighborhood cafe draws local artists, creative folks and forward-thinking people into this beautiful space. The establishment is the brainchild of interior designer and TV host Tristan Jovellana, streaming from his love of design, people and coffee. Every corner is certified Instagram-friendly.. even the restroom!

Our mango crepe was presented like a mini cake!

One of my companions wouldn't pass up the chance to order a Presa-flavored dish hehe! The crepe has chocolate, banana and sweet milk.

I noticed I've been leaning towards Chai-infused drinks recently, so it was no surprise that I ordered Mystic Brew's Meow Chai tea. So glad I picked the perfect drink to cap the day off! The aroma combined with the spiced milky taste made me relax.

Since we went on a Friday night, we were entertained with live acoustic music by Oliver Mata. I went over to give him the lyrics for the song "Stitches and Burns" by Fra Lippo Lippi and I ended up jamming with him *hides*. Mystic Brew also hosts art workshops, spoken word poetry, fund raisers, etc.

GeekyKitch recommends Mystic Brew for the artsy and coffee lovers! Try out the Meow Chai tea if you want something to drink while you chill or the Chili-Mint coffee (not in photo) if you need a caffeine boost with a kick ;)

They have free WiFi, in case you need an alternate office for the day.

I hope to try the Brazo de Mercedes cupcakes my friends have been raving about!
