End of Term Celebration at Fish & Co. Trinoma
Three weeks vacation time from university flew by fast... BAM! Boy I'm glad I had a good start for my Christmas break!
Last term I finished Software Engineering class AND reproduced a thesis proposal with documentation (chapters 1 - 3) with my partner, Aubrey. We finished writing our exams and defending our projects a week before Christmas, so why not celebrate for a job well done? :)

Armed with empty stomachs (we skipped breakfast to be sure :P), we were able to try out new dishes created by Chef Josh Boutwood at Fish and Co. Trinoma.

For starters we had chunks of deep-fried tender shrimp served with chips called Shrimp Popcorn (P 325). I love how it wasn't oily and used fresh meat. With or without the chipotle mayo dip, we kept eating mindlessly.. :)

I love crab especially its roe (crab fat). In fact, while I was in high school, I would eat it Bagoong Rice style at almost every meal! My grandma would have to reprimand me (cholesterol alert!)... but I can't help it! Haha!
It's no surprise that Softshell Crab Pasta (P 525) was the only dish I personally chose from the list. Al dente spaghetti + flavorful sauce + easy to eat crab = no regrets! However, it was the last dish we ate and I wished we had it while it was piping hot.

Everything sounds mouthwatering between Fish & Co. Paella, Steamed Mussels in Pico de Gallo, Fresh Tuna Picatta and Fish Crab Cakes that I left the decision to Aubrey. Off the bat she picked paella, because it's a rare dish for her and I agreed right away because my grandma doesn't cook it anymore during Christmas :(
Perfect for sharing between two - three people, depending on your appetite, the classic Spanish dish (P 875 / pan) had that extra creamy rice and generous servings of chicken, grilled prawns and Chilean mussels. You should try it yourself!

We tried out the unique Calamari Tacos, served in soft tortilla with fresh salsa and lemon wedge. It had slices of fresh ripe mango, cucumber and fried squid. Alternatively, you can order for Fish Tacos.

I'm more of the sweets person between the two of us, so I got to take home the dessert. Banana Caramel Pie is made from banana, dulce de leche and cream, on crust of crumbled Graham biscuits. It has chocolate syrup on top and the caramel sauce was very subtle. For me, it was a tad bit sweeter compared to Banapple's Banoffee Pie.
